SEC Athletes At 2016 Rio Olympics

41 posts in this topic

With Olympic qualifying going on, I thought I'd start a running thread to keep track of the elite athletes we're sending to kick some international ass; we can use it to post their results once the Games start too. We also have a lot of foreign students, so list athletes from your school that may be competing for their home country rather than the U.S. as well.

So far, UF is sending...

Still aways to go in qualifying; only a few sports have finished up... track & field isn't even finished yet.

Last Olympics UF had 35 athletes competing; when it was all said and and done, if UF had been considered its own country it'd have finished 10th in the medal count.

Where are all of ark track stars?

Ark mostly wins by the team concept, instead of having 1 superstar that gets 1st, have 4 people get 3rd - 6th and get more points.

Also, title is misleading, these are only Florida athletes.

*Edit* - Right now we have 7 that have qualified. (We had 12 for the 2012 games)

The title was supposed to be an invitation for you lazy lanekiffin.gifers to add your schools' lists; I just started with UF because I'm a Gator fan and I know ours... I ain't going to every school's official site and looking them up for y'all.

UF's updated to include Melani Costa-Schmid in swimming.

What isn't? Whatever you're using to access the site was probably made in China, or its components were, where the workforce is the very epitome of slave labor.

Who did we send for muff diving?

I was in the trials for both the 1988 Summer and Winter Games, but decided to go pro instead.

Depends on which class; shaved or natural?
