2015 SEC Baseball Pick 'Ems

56 posts in this topic

Folks, for those of us who have no basketball team to pull for, it's time to start thinking about college baseball.

I've set up a pick 'ems for SEC baseball. To get to the Pick 'Ems, click on the "Pick 'Ems" button at the top of the page. The first week's games start on Friday (Feb 13th). The rest of the baseball pick 'ems are also in the system and available for your picks. During the season, picks will close prior to the 1st game of the series.

Here’s the deal with the SEC Baseball Pick ‘Ems. I’ve included a pick ‘ems for those series that SEC teams are involved in over each weekend. On most occasions, the weekend matchups begin on a Thursday or a Friday for a series against the same team over a weekend. Except for those type games mentioned above, weekday games aren’t included since a lot of the weekday games are for one game only (against a common opponent). Any weekend series where an SEC team only plays one common opponent for only one game during the weekend were not included (e.g., weekend tournaments where a team plays 3 different opponents - Kentucky vs. Ball State, Richmond, and UNC Wilmington in weekend #1). On some occasions, a team may play two different teams twice during the weekend and both opponents are included in the Pick 'Ems.

The winners are decided by which team wins the series. For example, if Team A is scheduled to play Team B for 3 games over the weekend, whichever team wins 2 of 3 (or 3 of 3), gets the win in the pick ‘ems. If there is a rain-out and the teams split (1 win each), then the "pick 'ems" system considers it a tie. Also, for those series where Team A plays Team B for a scheduled 2-game series, or in some cases a 4-game series, if it is a split, the same holds true.

Here’s the series that I included for the first weekend of the pick ‘ems (Feb 13-15). I'll try to post the series and number of games played here in this thread prior to each weekend (similar to what is posted below):

Maryland Eastern Shore at Alabama (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

North Dakota at Arkansas (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

Binghamton at Auburn (3-game series; Friday-Sunday)

Rhode Island at Florida (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

Eastern Illinois at Georgia (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

Kansas at LSU (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

William and Mary at Ole Miss (3-game series: Friday-Sunday) > Ole Miss has this; I think they can beat two people!

Cincinnati at Mississippi State (3-games as part of Mississippi State Classic: Friday-Sunday)

Missouri vs. Iona (4-games as part of Roundball Showcase; Friday-Sunday)

College of Charleston at South Carolina (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

Tennessee at Florida International (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

Holy Cross at Texas A&M (3-game series, Friday-Sunday)

Santa Clara at Vanderbilt (3-game series: Friday-Sunday)

If anyone sees any errors, please post them in this thread. Good luck!

What about those of us who have no basketball team and have never had a baseball team?

Don't know, but with the way SC has done in football and basketball this year, I may get to find out if our baseball team flops too. At least Mizzou had an outstanding football season.

Hell, my team quit so I may as well too. They continue to suck.

Do you support the banning of non left messengers on social media?    And losing a clearance isn't designed to silence anyone. The better question would be why was it active past his need to know? Is he a government contractor or employee with need to know sensitive government materials? As far as I can see the answer is no. So why does he have it still?

As an aside does anyone practice shooting sitting on the ground? I tried it today and it's not easy. I was worried about losing the bullet so I set up 10 feet in front of the burm on the instructors range and tried falling back on the ground, draw, and fire. It's harder than it looks and it took a few moments for me to complete the task. I didn't draw as I was falling for fear of losing the pistol or having an ND. I could see someone being shocked by being blind sided needing a second or three to recover draw and fire.    Just an observation
