THIS is what a schedule looked like back in the day when schools had the balls to play somebody...

Funny how things change when we schedule our BYE before UF

(Cue GatorU with a iaBdfkZ.png ton of stats proving otherwise)

And to think that was only the 10th toughest schedule that year and every team UGA played was in the top 60.

I will see your UGA schedule and raise with Auburn's 1983....

Auburn had played the toughest schedule in the nation, including eight bowl teams, seven of which were ranked in the top 20 (four in the top ten).

ITT- UGA fans looking back on the good ole days when they went 6-4

1969 was a great year to be in Columbia!

I saw 4 or 5 cupcakes on that schedule that are good/great now days

who?

Michigan? hell no

NC - was a decent football school in the 60's

FSU - finished 1964 at No. 11 in the polls and beat OK in the Gator Bowl

GA Tech was a football power back then

Clemson has, like UGA & AU, always been a somewhat respectable team

The only "cupcake" that year was Vandy...

thx for pointing that out Joe

hey look - we have GA Southern rotating on the sched in 2015, we'll do our best to avenge our Reptilian SEC brothers from Gainesville. Don't worry Joe, we'll get 'em for ya!!

Difference is all our humiliating losses came in a single year, while Georgia's are spread out fairly evenly.

Yeah and ours came from BCS schools and yours came from an FCS school...... who you PAID to play (550 Gs)....... on HOMECOMING

Want to rethink that?

Sat, Nov 13 Auburn - Athens, Ga. 19 - 21 (L)

Sat, Nov 27 Georgia Tech - at Atlanta, Ga. 17 - 7 (W)

And it would be 43 years later (AT ASU in 2008) before UGA would play another Non-Southern team away from Athens. I know Dooley inherited this schedule, but how does one go to Ann Arbor and beat Michigan in the Big House and not have a burning desire to do that again elsewhere?

Lost to both of them because of TD passes that should have been knocked down. Instead the DBs attempted to intercept. Where have you seen that before!?

Winning TD at Nebraska in 1977 was on a 4th down fake FG by Nebraska. DB went for the interception. Knock it down and Bama is NC. ND lost to Ole Miss in Jackson that very same day. The same Ole Miss that Bama had beaten 34-13 the previous week.

Big play by USC in their win in 1978 was almost identical to your play last year against *u. Long pass thrown short. DB went for the int and tipped it right to the WR. For certain incompletion becomes easy TD.
