Don't Get the Nick Marshall Love

39 posts in this topic

This isn't meant to be a trash talk thread, but I put it here because I know it will end up there.

I don't get all the Nick Marshall hype. Sure we was the QB on the national champs runners up.

ESPN and others have him as the top or one of the top Heisman players, top SEC player, etc.

I'm not saying he sucks, but the thew for a whopping 1,976 yards and 14 TDs.

He completed more than 20 passes once all of 2013.

Then ran for 1,068 and 13 TDs. (Which is impressive)

Some please help explain to me why the national media is all on his junk. He is a good SEC player, but there are better QBs and RBs in the SEC than Marshall.

No way he's a Heisman hopeful....only thing I can think of is that they're trolling the hell outta UGA.

I did see improvement as the year went on. But, and I know this sounds like a broken record, but missing two entire games and only starting seven, Dak put up numbers that were damn near as good as Marshall's. Suffice it to say, I don't think Dak is a Heisman winner, and I don't think Marshall is either.

Now, I can take the iaBdfkZ.png from my own brethren over this.

He's lanekiffin.gifin lucky as hell, I'll give him that.

Completing a 30 yd pass or however long it was to himself, that's hard to lanekiffin.gifing do.

He's not a polished passer by any means but his decision making, especially in the run game was spot on last year. His last TD pass against us before the kick-six was such a heady play. Just shows how he's progressed in that system.

not bad for a guy that came in during the fall and won the job. he has a whole year and summer to get better and learn more plays. Better receivers around him. His numbers will be better

Heisman sure why not. Who will do better?

You sure have found creative ways to introduce Dak into every conversation...

with the talent around him, coker could be mediocre and look like a franchise qb.

Marshall deserves credit for making good decisions most of the time, his instincts were solid last season. Malzahn put him into position to perform well, but like a lot of QBs he was flat in some games. Just so happens those games were the two Auburn lost.

I don't know about Heisman, but in that offense he'll put better numbers than last year more than likely, if he stays healthy.

TJ Yeldon has the same odds as a Notre Dame QB coming back from missing a year, who could end up losing his starting spot to a young guy??? Explain.

I think he is a good player, and the team wins, and that is all that matters isn't it?

You have a lot of paranoid traits Crimson. Do you have trouble making friends?

This thread was about Nick and his Heisman chances. I mentioned the Crimson RB's because both of them made the list and both have just about the same odds as Nick coming out of a shared backfield.

I mentioned Dak also........

Like I said, kinda like Ingram. Nice clean up btw. Not paranoid at all. I just call a troll a troll. At least penguin would own his trolling. Go sell some more real estate.

Knowing your background, I will put it into tiny steps that you can follow.

1. A GameCock fan he doesn't understand the Nick Hype.

2. A MSU fan states that Dak in less games has somewhat the same stats. One MSU fan even stated that he doesn't see Dak even being considered

3. I provide the current odds on the Heisman and mention two RB's that will do the season in the same backfield and will somewhat split their vote.

4. I mention Dak is listed in the odds.

I'm a troll for doing this? I kind of wish you dad would have practiced more. (Withdrawal)
